Surrender An Animal

Speaking up for those who can not speak for themselves.

Animals are not our employees, entertainment, or test subjects. They deserve to live their lives with autonomy and our support.

Why should I give up my animal?

Animals have the ability to thrill and aid us all. However, when we use animals as a service we strip away their choice. Animals can not consent to being used for entertainment or testing, labor or education.

How do I know I have a working animal?

Some examples of working animals include: horses used for carriage rides, tiger cubs that take pictures with patrons, snakes used for musical performances, mice that endure cosmetic testing, and greyhounds used for racing. This list is only a few examples, and far from exhaustive.

If I surrender my animal, what happens to them?

Once we are notified that an animal is ready to retire or be surrendered we determine the best course of care depending on if it’s a domestic animal, exotic animal, farm animal, or wildlife. We arrange transportation for a medical evaluation, then transportation to a sanctuary or their new home.

What if my animal is my main source of income?

WARN understands that animal labor can be rooted in needs and tradition. We offer comprehensive one-on-one career services and grants for technological upgrades such as tractors or vehicles.

Still not sure? We invite you to learn more about WARN and read our testimonials.
